TERMS & CONDITIONS

PUPIL’S OBLIGATIONS

At the commencement of your driving course you must show both parts of your driving licence (photo card and green paper counterpart), or your old style driving licence and current passport showing your photograph, to your instructor, together with your theory test certificate.  You must also be able to pass the eyesight test which specifies you must be able to read in good daylight, with glasses or contact lenses if you wear them, a motor vehicle number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres (approx. 67 feet) or 20 metres (66 feet) for new style number plates introduced in 2001.  Failure to satisfy these requirements may result in you forfeiting part or all of your course and driving test fee without refund.

You must attend each lesson on time, or you will lose out on the number of hours training, with no obligation on the part of your instructor to make up your lost time.

You must be in a fit state to drive and not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.   If your instructor suspects either of the above, you will not be allowed to drive the tuition vehicle until you have satisfied your instructor that you are in a fit state to drive.  Any course fees lost will not be refunded.

Violent, abusive or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated and your course may be terminated without notice or refund.

You will be responsible for the cost, in full, of any malicious or wilful damage made to the training vehicle by you.

Even though our instructors will remain vigilant throughout your training, any motoring offence committed by you whilst driving the training car is your responsibility and any fines incurred must be paid by you.

COURSES

1 - 1 (one to one) driving course means one pupil to one instructor throughout the course.

Shared tuition means two pupils to one instructor, sharing the driving equally throughout the course.  If only one pupil attends, that pupil will receive extra tuition in addition to his/her half share of the course by way of 1 additional hour for every 10 hours of course booked.  Example: - 30 hour shared course involves 15 hours driving per pupil plus an additional 3 hours making 18 hours tuition in total.

The training cars are dual-controlled and are covered by a full comprehensive insurance.  Smoking is not allowed in the training vehicles.

Whilst every effort will be made to ensure that the pupil reaches the required standard to take their driving test, if your instructor decides that the pupil has not reached this standard, then that pupil will not be allowed to take the driving test in the training car.  Your instructor’s decision will be taken in the interest of the safety of the public, the examiner and the pupil and his/her decision will be final.  No refund of test fee or course fee will be made in these circumstances, but tuition will replace the time otherwise taken by the driving test.

We reserve the right to book your driving test at any test centre in the North West and may change centres and test times at any time.  You must not cancel or change your test arrangements without prior consultation with us.  In the unusual event of us not being able to book your test for the end of your course, an alternative date will be offered to you.

We accept no liability for any personal effects that are left in the training vehicle.

PAYMENTS

A deposit of £200 or total cost of course (if less than £200) is required on booking.

Balance of course must be paid in full no less than 14 days before commencement of your course.

The driving test fee is not included in the course fee and will be added on to your total bill.

We accept most debit/credit cards without surcharge, but do not accept cheques.

CANCELLATIONS

A minimum of 14 days notice is required if you wish to cancel your course.  If you cancel your course less than 14 days before commencement of your course you will forfeit all payment made for that course.

Deposits paid to secure a driving course are non-refundable in the event of cancellation by you.

We cannot be held responsible if the DSA cancels your driving test, although an alternative test date will be provided by the DSA at no charge to yourself.

If, whilst attending a driving course, the weather prevents ongoing training due to dangerous road conditions, we will re-schedule the number of hours training that have been missed. To benefit from this, the student must have attended the course.

In the unlikely event that you fail to reach the standard required to take your practical driving test, or you decide to end your course early, your test fee cannot be refunded unless a minimum of 4 working days notice is given.  In either case, you will not be entitled to any refund of course fees.

In the unlikely event of us being unable to complete your training and/or take you for your driving test, due to illness of your instructor or mechanical breakdown of the training vehicle, you will be entitled to a refund of the hours lost on your course and/or the driving test fee.
